Not alot to report re: last night... Mark and I ate a chilli I cooked, and I also cooked a lentil and carrot soup (exciting, huh?). We sat in the garden until quite late, and drank a few beers (spot a pattern in my life?), and went to bed after Kurt had popped in to look at Mark's drainage success. Made me chuckle yesterday morning when they both watched Mark's morning ablutions roll past, whilst gasping "look at the flow on that". The drainage inspector was duly impressed with Mark's efforts, and I think that Mark was hoping for a little gold star, or a certificate, or SOMETHING to confirm his plumbing prowess.
Got a few plans for the weekend. Nothing much on tonight (probably more leftover chilli and more beer in the garden tonight). Tomorrow am planning to go into Cambridge and buy Mark's Mum's birthday pressie, something for Oscar, and *maybe* something for Caroline's new baby... (we can't get hold of the family today, so are wondering whether they are down at the hospital?). In the afternoon am off to Haslingfield for their fete (Mark's Mum has a stall there), which should be nice. Nice that I have such a good relationship with Mark's parents. In the evening we have been invited to Kurt's step-daughter's 40th birthday party... two problems with that really... a) Mark is working, so will be tired and not exactly in the 'partay mood', and b) the theme is 'glamour and filmstars/red carpet stylee...'. I am planning to go as whatever filmstar wears scruffy jeans and tops from Primark ;-) I really don't have anything suitable for such an event, and last Sunday when I was supposed to rifle through Tracy's extensive collection of posh frocks, we were a little preoccupied with something else! ;-)
Sunday am going to Lowie to see little Oscar, and catch up with the family. So many people I want to see in Lowestoft this weekend, but will have to see how I can fit it all in... still not seen Marie's new place and given her her card/gift, and haven't seen Janine and little Lola for ages. Would also like to see my grandparents... hmmm..........
Anyway, have to get on.
Take care,
Hayls
