Amazing Grace

First off, a happy birthday to my friend Diane's little girl, Grace. Unbelievably she is five today, which means (to my shame) that it is exactly four years since I have clapped eyes on Diane et al. I made it to Grace's first birthday, and have been a somewhat absent Aunty Poo Poo in this case. I guess the journey to Leeds has always seemed a bit long... :-s Anyway, enough crap excuses - I hope she has a lovely day.

Last night was rather pleasant. Unfortunately Emma couldn't make it (too much work on), but Mark, Robert and myself and wandered down to the beer festival last night. Sampled a few beers (had to sup the Oscar Wilde dark beer, to wet the baby's head)... after four of five pints, we staggered home and Emma came to pick Robert up. His Gran's funeral is tomorrow, so was feeling a little concerned for him last night, but am sure he will be fine.

All seems to be going well in Lowestoft; Oscar is being a dream, and is feeding/sleeping well, and Henry still seems fairly relaxed about his new brother status. Tracy said there was a scary moment yesterday when Henry tried to wrench Oscar out of his pram by the arm (to play!), but no harm done (as yet!). She seems fairly upbeat at the moment, and long may it hold!

No other real news to report. Just been for a run with the guys from work; a nice short one today, to try and ease some of the group back into going (we had scared some people away!). No real plans for tonight, except to make the chilli that I meant to make last night (but failed to). Mark is still working really hard in the garden trenches, and is hoping to get his drainage work signed off today by a building inspector. Am very proud of him, I don't know where he gets the energy/know-how/confidence to tackle stuff like that when he has never done it before... I would instantly be reaching for the chequebook and paying an expensive geezer-bloke to do it!

Much love
Hayls
