Well, had to drag myself into London for work for the day. Love seeing the girls/guys from work, but hate having to get up so early, and dread the often extended journey home! Today has been nice so far though as went for a lunch time walk with Seema and Arpi, and spent it rifling through baby clothes (for Oscar, and Seema's cousin's new baby). Was a bit gutted though as received a call from Lindsey and Mark to say that they were just passing my other office in Cambridge and wanted to meet for lunch - pout! They are just getting close to home after their extended tour around the UK in a camper van, and it would have been so nice to see them!
Last night we went out for a nice meal with Mark's Mum (Mark's treat, so even better!), once we had managed to coax Mark in from the trench in the garden. Had far too much to eat though (hot smoked salmon bruschetta, posh haddock, chips, and 'creamed peas', and blueberry creme brulee... delicious!).
Tonight am going straight to Robert and Emma's place for dinner/beer/wine, and a run with Emma (not in that order). Mark has his mate Noel round for the evening, so I like to make myself scarce while they bond over curry/beer. I *think* Robert is cooking, so am sure that whatever we have to eat will be absolutely delicious.
All in Lowestoft is going fairly well; Oscar is putting on weight steadily and feeding/sleeping well, and Henry seems fairly settled into his new role. Tracy has up and down days; I think it was hard for her yesterday as Henry asked Sam why he didn't live with them anymore... kids are so savvy, even at age 3 :-( Dad has been off work the last couple of days with chronic back ache. It has been getting him down as he gets no sickness pay (WTF??!!!), so time off means no wages next week. A pretty rough deal!
Regards,
Hayls
