Must Not..

..drink red wine like it is water... must not drink red wine like it is water... must not drink red wine like it is water... must not drink red wine like it is water... must not drink red wine like it is water... must not drink red wine like it is water... must not drink red wine like it is water... must not drink red wine like it is water... must not drink red wine like it is water... must not drink red wine like it is water... must not drink red wine like it is water... repeat ad infinitum...

Well, I fell off the wagon in pretty impressive style last night! For some reason, Ricki and I decided that for dietary reasons it would be a good idea to skip dinner, and drink several large glasses of red wine instead. On leaving the pub (at a modest 8:45), it was rather like getting slammed on the head with a sledgehammer! How does your brain trick you into feeling ok one minute... dum de dum, nothing going on here.... and then totally NOT the next?! urrrgghhhh.... Anyway, despite the apparently never-ending journey home, and the hangover today, we had a good night!

Ryan Adams on Wednesday night was absolutely fantastic - so much so, that I paid some grebo an extortionate amount of money for a rip-off t-shirt outside the venue. Ryan looked a lot messier than I was expecting, but his voice was amazing... huge range of styles in his set (some very White Stripes kinda stuff). Mark described him as a mid-west Nick Cave... We had a really good night, and I was actually good and didn't drink (I drove).

Anyway... work to do, and a headache to soothe!

Again...

...not a particularly eventful evening last night. Went to netball, which has turned out to be something I really enjoy! Have always touted myself as a non-competitive person, who is a bit crap at team sports... however, I have found that I do have a competitive streak after all, although I am still crap... heh (not an ideal combination!). We do about 45 minutes of 'training', which is pretty hardcore actually, and a 45 minute game of 5-a-side-netball... am actually sad to be missing some when am on holiday!

After netball, and a short run home, I made a pretty interesting dinner, which turned out to be rather nice (was a big hit with his lordship!). Pearl barley and prawns? Which sounds really disgusting, but was really easy to make and really tasty! Had all manner of insipid and scary sounding ingredients, including pearl barley, prawns (quelle surprise!), quark (??), parsley, onions and stock... kind of a risotto? Anyway... for me this was also the SECOND night without booze! Can I make it a lucky three in a row? hmmm...

Tonight we are going to see Ryan Adams play in Cambridge... really looking forward to that! Is gonna be a bit of a rush as Mark is working today, but should be good... note the name Ryan, who is not under any circumstances to be confused with Bryan!!!! :-\ Check out the Cardinals radio on his website... they have all his albums there. "Love is Hell" and "Heartbreaker" albums are very good indeedie.

Anyway... better finish off some work I have to get done. Tomorrow am in London (boo), but am meeting up with Ricki for drinks/dinner in London in the evening (yay) and having lunch with John, so that makes up for having to get out of bed so early.

Much love,

Not Alot Going Down

Not much to say today really... last night we stayed in, counted the bricks we have left (don't ask!), and I cooked a yummy sweet potato and mushroom fritatta... that was about it! Have started a new diet regime (quelle surprise, I hear you shout!), and even managed to avoid alcohol last night - the first time in a long time that I haven't had at *least* one can of beer or glass of wine of an evening... how sad is that?! I can't say I feel better for it - the smugness does not outweigh the pleasure of a nice cold beer or a warming glass of red wine. Nevermind, I just have to picture myself in a bikini in my current state (going on hols next week), and it's enough to have me reaching for the slim fast ;-)

Am running at lunch time today, and have netball tonight... I might even be in danger of getting fit at this rate, but it is highly doubtful ;-)

Anyway, hopefully will have something more interesting to tell you tomorrow... and Janine, will make sure I upload those piccies of Lola tonight.

Best wishes

Pizza, Parents and Piracy...

Had a really nice weekend, despite my ongoing disappointment at not going to Bath with Sofie.

Friday night
Went round to Robert and Emma's place for dinner (as Mark had pre-arranged a lad's night out in my assumed absence). Emma and I went for a run along the tow path in Cambridge (took a bit of joint encouragement to go, seeing as it *was* a Friday night, and such night's should NOT be spent running!), and really enjoyed it in the end. Then we went for a pint in their local, and Emma cooked a delicious pizza for each of us; anchovies, capers, olives, tomatoes and lots of yummy cheese. They were excellent!

Saturday
The builders arrived nice and early, scuppering any chance of us having a nice lie-in... I got up and went to Mark's parents to pick up our scarifier (??!!) and have a nice cup of tea with them... then I went to Bar Hill (huge Tesco) and bought ingredients for lunch, and Mark's parents came over at lunch time to help us eat it. Was quite nice; a sort of smoked haddock and potato chowder, with lots of yummy breads, and apple-pie ice-cream for desert. After lunch we went to watch the second half of the local reserve football team play Lowestoft town, which was quite amusing... I was slightly torn, and almost felt a well of emotion when the group of retards at the Lowestoft end started chanting "Blue Army" and "We love you Lowestoft....". Thankfully it was a draw (1-1) otherwise their could have been a riot in the on the way home (between me and Mark and his family... ;-) In the evening I cooked veggie kievs and salad, and we got an early night...

Sunday
I drove over to Lowestoft (got up with mark at 6am!), and had breakfast with Mum and Dad. Then I went over to Tracy's, and after a minor altercation arranged to meet Sam and Henry at the Pirate Ship soft play centre... I feel so sorry for Tracy. Sam seemed to be skulking around the house, and played on Henry's tearful pleas for him to Join Tracy, Oscar, Janine, Lola and I for lunch at some children's soft play centre in the town. Why would he want to come?!?!?!?!!? He must have the skin of a rhino. After I had a minor tantrum in the car, Tracy arranged for Sam to take Henry for an hour, while we fed Oscar and Lola at Janine's, and that he would do a handover when we arrived (so that I didn't have to choke on my jacket potato and make polite conversation with him!). It turned out rather nice... Lola is a gorgeous smiley baby, and really seemed to enjoy the baby bouncers they have there, and Henry seemed happy and sweaty. I think the noisy environment was a bit of a shock for Lola (and me!), but for Oscar this was probably a nice quiet afternoon, as he didn't have Henry blowing a whistle in his ear or generally screaming a few inches from his head! ;-)

We headed over to Tracy's new house and had a quick nose around there (the progress is great, although the place does look a complete mess!). I'm not sure what her move-in date is as yet - to me it looks quite a long way off, although I think my imagination with these things is a bit crap. Tracy, Oscar, Henry and I went back to Mum and Dad's and chilled out for a bit, and then I made my way home; witnessed the most gorgeous sunset all the way home! In the evening I cooked a yummy dinner for Mark and I (even though I say so myself); Queen's scallops, prawns, new potatoes, chilli, lemon, garlic and mint, with a salad.

Just got a call from Mum saying that the town is flooded today though! They are having a storm, which Mum says is preventing people getting out of their cars! The water is up to door level on some of them.... I'm not sure how her call to me was going to help her get out of the car to her physio session at the local hospital... I gave her the required moral support, and I can only assume she swam across the car park to her appointment. No doubt I will hear stories of ten foot waves and killer giant squid later ;-)

Pull the Plug on Bath

Well.... today I am at work rather than driving down to sunny Bath for the weekend with Sofie. Poor Sofie got ill (flu-type symptoms) and couldn't make the flight over from Denmark last night, so am at work instead today! Such a shame, as was really looking forward to getting away from it all (could do with a break) and was REALLY looking forward to catching up with Sofie... ah well, one of those things (poor girl). I just hope she feels better for her trip next week - she is off to Brussels for work; translating an English tour into Danish sign language for a deaf group! Sounds exhausting!

Not much planned for the weekend really now. Feeling all a bit miffed about it... sigh!

Not Gonna Let Them Win

I was actually really enjoying writing this blog (as a record to myself, and to save me writing lots of emails to friends I never have time to keep in as much contact with as I would like) until I realised that some very sad git was reading it daily (some people should REALLY get a life, and move on!!). I have a tracker that gives me a fair idea of the readership...

Anyway, have decided not to let them win, and for the time being have taken off password protection. I will see if I can stomach that for long!

Anyway... enough of the rant and back to my idiotic ramblings... ;-) Not alot to report in the last few days - Mark took me out for a gorgeous schezuan meal for our anniversary at the start of the week, and I went to see his sister's baby (Emily) for a cuddle on the weekend. She is a very gorgeous pixie faced little darling! Caroline looks really well, and Katie seems to be coping with her sisterhood a little better than Henry (as she is totally entranced with the baby, whereas Henry is verging on indifference); she made me laugh so much though when she asked me if I was "excited" at the prospect of watching her help her Daddy change the baby's nappy! Of course, I was filled with anticipation ;-)

I joined a netball team last night!??!!!! Mark's sister-in-law bullied me into going (heh), and I actually quite enjoyed it! I forgot though that there are a scary number of rules involved, and ended up fowling several opponents!!! I may not be allowed to play next week I reckon... Also did my usual run at lunch yesterday. I would like to say that the runs are becoming easier, but am afraid they are not! If anything I am getting more and more knackered out by them!

The actual brickwork started on the garage at the weekend, and looks fab... I was chief coffee maker for the motley crew that turned up to do it... all very nice chaps, but for some reason I turn into a tongue-tied twit in the face of a group of workmen. I wonder what a group of them is called... "a murder of workmen", a "gaggle of...", a "whiff off...". Mark is laying the kitchen foundations today, which should make a huge difference to the garden (and the large pit outside the backdoor, which I fear falling into on a sleepwalking expedition!).

Must get on with my work - lots to do!

Secret Password

Sorry for having to password protect my blog... I suspect someone reading it that I didn't want to read it, so had to make it a bit more secure...

Anyway, am pleased to announce the arrival of little baby Emily (our new niece). Mark's sister gave birth yesterday in lightening fast time; 45 minutes! I think that she has actually been in very slow labour for some days now, and only really felt ready to go into hospital at the same moment she felt the urge to push! Not sure of any of the details yet, but I think Caroline is doing well (if not a little tired and very sore).

Last night did not do an awful lot again - went to the pub with Mark and got fairly sozzled, and came home and stuffed pasta...

Just came back from a blood letting session... not some weird lunch time cult I am involved with, but the blood donation service... free crisps and biscuits, and the opportunity to feel smug all afternoon ;-) This is apparently my seventh session! That means I should have lost seven pounds in weight...

Got my mum coming tonight... she is staying until tomorrow evening, so that should be good. Not much else to report - it's our 2nd anniversary on Sunday. Am wondering whether Mark will remember! ;-)

Halo Slippage

Jen, you will be pleased to hear that the halo has slipped... am suffering a fairly severe (creeping) hangover, as a result of skipping my run with Emma and going to the pub with them instead (then topping up with red wine on return from pub). Supposed to be running this morning, but will be with much reluctance.... :-\

Not much else to report in land of Haylois... still no word from Caroline re: the baby, and all else is fine in Lowestoft. It's Mark and I's 2nd anniversary this weekend, which is truly unbelievable! Time flies when you are having fun I guess! It's been a really good year for us this year, and living together has worked out really well (at least, *I* think it has!).

Cor Blimey

Well, had to drag myself into London for work for the day. Love seeing the girls/guys from work, but hate having to get up so early, and dread the often extended journey home! Today has been nice so far though as went for a lunch time walk with Seema and Arpi, and spent it rifling through baby clothes (for Oscar, and Seema's cousin's new baby). Was a bit gutted though as received a call from Lindsey and Mark to say that they were just passing my other office in Cambridge and wanted to meet for lunch - pout! They are just getting close to home after their extended tour around the UK in a camper van, and it would have been so nice to see them!

Last night we went out for a nice meal with Mark's Mum (Mark's treat, so even better!), once we had managed to coax Mark in from the trench in the garden. Had far too much to eat though (hot smoked salmon bruschetta, posh haddock, chips, and 'creamed peas', and blueberry creme brulee... delicious!).

Tonight am going straight to Robert and Emma's place for dinner/beer/wine, and a run with Emma (not in that order). Mark has his mate Noel round for the evening, so I like to make myself scarce while they bond over curry/beer. I *think* Robert is cooking, so am sure that whatever we have to eat will be absolutely delicious.

All in Lowestoft is going fairly well; Oscar is putting on weight steadily and feeding/sleeping well, and Henry seems fairly settled into his new role. Tracy has up and down days; I think it was hard for her yesterday as Henry asked Sam why he didn't live with them anymore... kids are so savvy, even at age 3 :-( Dad has been off work the last couple of days with chronic back ache. It has been getting him down as he gets no sickness pay (WTF??!!!), so time off means no wages next week. A pretty rough deal!

Regards,
Hayls

Gonna Take your Mamma Out All Night...

Well, for the evening anyhow...

Today is Suzy's (Mark's Mum's) birthday, so a big happy birthday to her. Am sure that what she wants most for her birthday is for Caroline to give her a new grandchild today; that would be lovely. However, these things rarely come to order! Mark, Suzy and I are going for dinner tonight (John is watching football!!!!) at a gorgeous 'gastropub' nearby. am really looking forward to it, as I enjoy Suzy's company, and the food there is absolutely delicious.

Running at lunch again today, weather permitting... although after a misty/rainy start, its starting to look quite promising.

Not much else to report! Mark and I stayed in last night and ate an enormous tuna nicoise salad I made, and I was so pooped I actually went to bed at 9:30. Mark has made an early start today, and is pouring the footings for the kitchen extension. He is precariously balancing the cement mixer over the side of the 6ft+ trench on a pile of little wooden blocks and boards, so am fully expecting to go home at lunch and find a pair of little feet sticking up out of the concrete (and I don't mean Mia's). I suppose though that it would be a fitting way for Mark to go (much like Steve Irwin's demise); "he who lives for the trench, dies in the trench"... if that isn't a 'saying' then it should be ;-)

Much work to do...

What a Difference a Week Makes...

Had a really lovely weekend...

Friday night, cooked pizza for Mark, which seemed to take all evening, but was worth it (if only for Mark's joy at being served homemade pizza!!!).

Saturday morning had a fairly long and desperate shopping session. Was after a present for Oscar, a present for Mark's Mum, Suzy (her birthday is tomorrow), a home warming present for Marie, and something cheap and cheerful (yet highly glamorous) to wear for that 40th birthday party on Saturday night. Didn't manage to get anything to wear (despite almost two hours rifling through the junk in TK Maxx). The baby clothes were hugely un-inspiring for boys in almost every shop in town, aside from Gap which seemed extortionately expensive for such tiny pieces of material! So ended up getting Oscar a gorgeous knitted bear, and will get him something online to wear (seen some really unusual and funky boy's baby clothes online). Managed to get Suzy a pressie after going in almost 15 jewellery shops, and got Marie a gorgeous jar-type thingy from the posh market in central Cambridge. So all ended up ok...

In the afternoon, I helped out at the Haslingfield village fete! I helped Suzy out on the surprise parcel stall that Suzy often runs (you pay 20p/30p/40p/50p/£1, pick out a relevant raffle ticket, and then get a parcel of the same number). This is an amazing feat of patience on Suzy's behalf, who devotes much time to this cause (the money all goes to the local church) - sourcing small pressies and wrapping/numbering them all... I don't suppose she banks on the modern-day child, who turns up with a £20 note, and wants to buy the entire stall...

Was quite weird as saw a girl from my high school there! Very odd to bump into someone from school (Josie Keeler) at a tiny fete some hundred miles from home! She seemed happy and well and had two very cute young children.

Saturday night I wore my not so glad rags and went to a 40th birthday partay for Mark's friend Kurt's step-daughter... was a very extravagant affair, and even had an Oscar ceremony, a band, red carpet, and films projected on to the walls... was quite nice as it was at Mark's old high school, and we got to look around (the bike sheds! ;-).

Sunday was incredibly busy, but very enjoyable day. Went to visit Marie in her lovely new house (beautiful little place, and she seems so happy), and my grandparents (long overdue). Also, of course, spent most of the day with Tracy and the boys and Mum and Dad. Had a lovely walk along the sea front, and coffee at the Thatched Cottage; the weather was gorgeous, a real heatwave! Was so weird to think that the weekend before (the Saturday) Tracy was still pregnant, and we walked the same route in grey clouds and a howling wind discussing possible boys names (Hans(el) was the maicontenderor at that point)! This time we had a proper little person with us called Oscar, walking in the sunshine... what a difference a week makes!

Oscar

The pictures of the pair of them are here.

Henry was so funny.. still calling Oscar "Gor" for some reason, and demanding lots of attention, which of course he is getting. He announced yesterday that his "boobies were full of ribena" (on sight of Tracy breast feeding Oscar), but that we couldn't have any as he needed it all.

No real plans for tonight... the house could really do with a bit of a clean, and that's about it. Still waiting to hear some news re: Caroline's baby, but nothing seems to be happening yet! In sheer desperation she even went for a cycle ride yesterday, which is amazing considering how big she is!

Anyway... lunch over, better get back to work!

Living For The Weekend

Not alot to report re: last night... Mark and I ate a chilli I cooked, and I also cooked a lentil and carrot soup (exciting, huh?). We sat in the garden until quite late, and drank a few beers (spot a pattern in my life?), and went to bed after Kurt had popped in to look at Mark's drainage success. Made me chuckle yesterday morning when they both watched Mark's morning ablutions roll past, whilst gasping "look at the flow on that". The drainage inspector was duly impressed with Mark's efforts, and I think that Mark was hoping for a little gold star, or a certificate, or SOMETHING to confirm his plumbing prowess.

Got a few plans for the weekend. Nothing much on tonight (probably more leftover chilli and more beer in the garden tonight). Tomorrow am planning to go into Cambridge and buy Mark's Mum's birthday pressie, something for Oscar, and *maybe* something for Caroline's new baby... (we can't get hold of the family today, so are wondering whether they are down at the hospital?). In the afternoon am off to Haslingfield for their fete (Mark's Mum has a stall there), which should be nice. Nice that I have such a good relationship with Mark's parents. In the evening we have been invited to Kurt's step-daughter's 40th birthday party... two problems with that really... a) Mark is working, so will be tired and not exactly in the 'partay mood', and b) the theme is 'glamour and filmstars/red carpet stylee...'. I am planning to go as whatever filmstar wears scruffy jeans and tops from Primark ;-) I really don't have anything suitable for such an event, and last Sunday when I was supposed to rifle through Tracy's extensive collection of posh frocks, we were a little preoccupied with something else! ;-)

Sunday am going to Lowie to see little Oscar, and catch up with the family. So many people I want to see in Lowestoft this weekend, but will have to see how I can fit it all in... still not seen Marie's new place and given her her card/gift, and haven't seen Janine and little Lola for ages. Would also like to see my grandparents... hmmm..........

Anyway, have to get on.
Take care,
Hayls

Two Sides to Every Story

The bad news... (this was a definite)

The good news... ;-)

Amazing Grace

First off, a happy birthday to my friend Diane's little girl, Grace. Unbelievably she is five today, which means (to my shame) that it is exactly four years since I have clapped eyes on Diane et al. I made it to Grace's first birthday, and have been a somewhat absent Aunty Poo Poo in this case. I guess the journey to Leeds has always seemed a bit long... :-s Anyway, enough crap excuses - I hope she has a lovely day.

Last night was rather pleasant. Unfortunately Emma couldn't make it (too much work on), but Mark, Robert and myself and wandered down to the beer festival last night. Sampled a few beers (had to sup the Oscar Wilde dark beer, to wet the baby's head)... after four of five pints, we staggered home and Emma came to pick Robert up. His Gran's funeral is tomorrow, so was feeling a little concerned for him last night, but am sure he will be fine.

All seems to be going well in Lowestoft; Oscar is being a dream, and is feeding/sleeping well, and Henry still seems fairly relaxed about his new brother status. Tracy said there was a scary moment yesterday when Henry tried to wrench Oscar out of his pram by the arm (to play!), but no harm done (as yet!). She seems fairly upbeat at the moment, and long may it hold!

No other real news to report. Just been for a run with the guys from work; a nice short one today, to try and ease some of the group back into going (we had scared some people away!). No real plans for tonight, except to make the chilli that I meant to make last night (but failed to). Mark is still working really hard in the garden trenches, and is hoping to get his drainage work signed off today by a building inspector. Am very proud of him, I don't know where he gets the energy/know-how/confidence to tackle stuff like that when he has never done it before... I would instantly be reaching for the chequebook and paying an expensive geezer-bloke to do it!

Much love

Too Busy Thinking About My Baby

Feeling slightly deflated today... not hearing much from Lowestoft, and have to wait until the weekend until I get to see Oscar again :-( I can see how they are all a bit busy at the moment in Lowestoft, but I am suffering from severe withdrawal symptoms. Nobody answers the phone, and anytime they do, I get a very brief update before they have to go and tend the baby or entertain a new visitor for the baby... ah well, I guess it is the Aunty's lot!

Anyway, from what I gather little Oscar is doing really well; not crying very much, and feeding really well. Henry has been taking it all fairly well, although he has been a little bit naughty (attention seeking) and is suffering from 'showoff overload'. So many guests, and so many dances to show off - no wonder the poor boy is feeling a little emotional!

Last night's run/dinner went really well. For Janine's benefit, I can tell you that Emma cooked a delicious pasta and salami/tomato/mozarella sauce, and I have had a bowel movement this morning. For some reason she is expecting this level of granularity in my blog ;-)

Mark managed to sort the drainage out yesterday, so we had flushing toilets and running taps last night. Poor devil was at it for a good twelve hours yesterday, and he and Noel were looking pretty frazzled by the end of the day. Hopefully he has broken the back of it, and can have a slightly more relaxing day today. Mia is coping really well with the huge bomb crater style holes that keep appearing in the garden, and seems to be almost oblivious to the mini-diggers and power tool action going on.

Tonight am cooking a large chilli, and hopefully Robert and Emma are coming over, before we head to the beer festival. Am looking forward to it!

Much love,

Back to Life...

Not an awful lot to report. Spent yesterday chatting to people about my exciting weekend, and phoned Lowestoft several times to see how things are going there. Tracy is coping brilliantly with the new bubba - breast feeding successfully, and little Oscar has been a dream. He seems to be still bringing up some of the prawn dhansak that Tracy ate on Saturday night (heh), and he doesn't look too happy about it, so I guess she has put him off curry for life! Rather than feeding on demand, Tracy is getting straight into the 3 hourly feed routine... so we will see how that goes! Mum is staying overnight with her at the moment (Sam has been dismissed, much to his despair/disbelief). I really hope that she can continue without his insincere attempts at playing 'the family man'.

Henry has been really funny since the birth. He has christened little Oscar "Gor(e?)", and wants to know "why he hasn't got any teeth?", "why does he only drink milk?", and most importantly, "why won't he play with me?". I bought him a T-shirt with the slogan; "I'm the Big Brother" which he refused to put on at first yesterday, as he didn't *want* to be a big brother. It seems though that later in the day he was happy to take on his new role, and even wanted a cuddle last night. It must be quite a transition; to go from being the centre of attention, to playing a supporting role... I can't remember the experience myself, but am sure that I found it quite difficult myself (although Mum assures me that I was perfectly happy with my new sister, and helped out quite a bit). It seems that I won't be seeing them until Sunday, so will look forward to seeing how much Oscar has changed and how Tracy is shaping up.

Last night Mark and I didn't do alot; munched veggie hot dogs and home-grown sweetcorn in the garden (was really mild!). He seemed a bit preoccupied, but has got alot of work to do today on the plot in the garden. He is digging lots of trenches for the drainage, and connecting it all up with Noel's help. It means that we have no running water or toilets today, which could prove interesting!

I am going running twice today; lunch time run around the lake with a couple of the guys here, and then tonight with Emma. Looking forward to catching up with her, and having our after-run dinner, which is always nice. Hoping to catch up with Robert and Emma together tomorrow night; hopefully going to a beer festival with Mark too! yay!

Better get on with work... busy on projects at the moment, and have to get them done before holiday!

Much love

I Fell in Love With a Boy...

I met a lovely young guy just yesterday (sorry Mark...). His name is Oscar George, and he looks just like his handsome older brother, Henry. He is quite a big chap, and weighs around 8lb 11... he kept me hanging around a bit for our first meeting, but he was worth it...

Yes, Tracy gave birth yesterday to a lovely lovely little boy. We (myself, Mum and Tracy) headed to the hospital at around 7:30, and Oscar was born at 20:10... bizarrely we arrived at the same time as Richard Stone (from school) who was there with his wife, who also gave birth (to a little girl) yesterday. The day seemed to go so fast (for me at least), and I have learnt many lessons about the child birth process.... a) don't eat curry the night before, even if it brings on the birth... b) demand an epidural as you cross the hospital threshold, c) have a caesarian, full stop. I won't go into details, but there are times that I felt I was in a scene from The Exorcist, and am hoping that the flashbacks will wear off some time soon... having said all that, I wouldn't have missed it for the world... what an amazing experience! Tracy did amazingly well, and I even surprised myself a little at my own calmness and authoritative air... I guess I have never been tested to see how I would react in stressful circumstances.

Anyway... am a very happy Aunty. I took some photos of the little fella all bundled up after the birth, and will be uploading those later today. Looking forward to seeing him for our second date at the weekend... ;-)

Much love

Evil Jarvis

Well it seems that Jarvis does not like to be upstaged by new members to the family. My little Fiat (Jarvis) almost made Henry's entrance to the world some three years ago even more memorable by facilitating my 'almost' departure from it... having visited Tracy in hospital on the day of Henry's birth, Jarvis's brakes failed as I appraoched a roundabout at some speed.... (obviously by attributing him a name and evil personality, I divert attention from the fact that it was due to my complete and utter neglect that the brake pads had worn through; in fact I had even turned up the radio to block out the squealing sound for several months...). However, today he has surpassed himself by failing his MOT (naughty boy), and so now my car is not available for the weekend dash to Tracy's bedside. Looks like I will have to drive Mark's scary fast car, or start running now... I may make it by wednesday or thursday... next month.

Plans for weekend are nil, mainly due to Tracy. Can't go to stay in Lowestoft on the off chance really as Tracy and Henry have their beds booked at my parents, and as much as I love Tracy I am not sharing a 3/4 size bed with her in her current condition... 3 in a bed was never my thing ;-)

Alternatives this weekend are to paint the garden fence (sigh), or ironing (really big sigh)... so it looks like it could be a VERY exciting weekend or a VERY boring one! I can't even have a drink for fear of having to jump in the car - this is a serious infringement, and most inconsiderate of Tracy... heh. She has no idea how much I have suffered (cue violins).

Anyway... better do my last few bits of work before the weekend. Happy birthday to Lisa again, who I am sure is 21 again today... ;-)

Love
