...not metaphorically or psychologically, as one could imagine in these depressing winter days, but quite literally 'on ice'. Tonight am escorting Mark's mum and sister to a showing of Swan Lake on Ice at a local theatre (a late birthday treat for Mark's Mum), while Mark whoops it up at his work Christmas party... spot the mistake?!
Actually, am secretly looking forward to tonight. Mark's family are good company, and Swan Lake is a lovely story. Jane and Jamie will account though for how this story can be misconstrued though (didn't we think that Bernard Matthews made an appearance in the Albert Hall rendition? ;-), so am printing off a synopsis for tonight, so we can check what is happening! heh...
Actually... have just spoken to Mark and it seems that it will be less of a whoop, and more of a whooping cough... he has picked up the cold I had last week, and is feeling pretty rotten. It seems that I may be having a wilder time than him after all! Actually, I hope he still makes it... he could do with relaxing and having a laugh after his week at work.
All else is good with me... looking forward to the weekend. Got NO PLANS, and Mark is off work - yay! Diet going well - have lost two pounds this week already, and am hoping for more by the weekend (returned to running this week, and have eaten sod all).
Had a text from Tesla this week to say that she gave birth to a little boy at the start of the week - a young 7lb chappie called Namar(?!). It is an Arabic name apparently, and I think it is a rather fetching one. Anyway, hopefully will catch up with her soon and she can talk me through the ordeal ;-).
Much love
Hayls
