I met a lovely young guy just yesterday (sorry Mark...). His name is Oscar George, and he looks just like his handsome older brother, Henry. He is quite a big chap, and weighs around 8lb 11... he kept me hanging around a bit for our first meeting, but he was worth it...
Yes, Tracy gave birth yesterday to a lovely lovely little boy. We (myself, Mum and Tracy) headed to the hospital at around 7:30, and Oscar was born at 20:10... bizarrely we arrived at the same time as Richard Stone (from school) who was there with his wife, who also gave birth (to a little girl) yesterday. The day seemed to go so fast (for me at least), and I have learnt many lessons about the child birth process.... a) don't eat curry the night before, even if it brings on the birth... b) demand an epidural as you cross the hospital threshold, c) have a caesarian, full stop. I won't go into details, but there are times that I felt I was in a scene from The Exorcist, and am hoping that the flashbacks will wear off some time soon... having said all that, I wouldn't have missed it for the world... what an amazing experience! Tracy did amazingly well, and I even surprised myself a little at my own calmness and authoritative air... I guess I have never been tested to see how I would react in stressful circumstances.
Anyway... am a very happy Aunty. I took some photos of the little fella all bundled up after the birth, and will be uploading those later today. Looking forward to seeing him for our second date at the weekend... ;-)
